The
WorkForce Council was established in 1983 to oversee the Job
Training Partnership Act and has expanded its role to include
Welfare Reform, Incumbent Worker Training and oversight
responsibilities for the WorkForce Center System. The
WorkForce Council serves nine counties, in partnership with a Joint Powers Board
comprised of a Commissioner from each County.
The majority of our
members are local business leaders. Our members also represent
education, labor, human services, job service, economic development
and community based organizations.
The following pages
describe our Joint Powers Board, WorkForce Council Members and how
you can become a member of the Council!
