Northwest
Area Foundation
The Northwest Area Foundation announces the launch of a
new website designed to assist users obtain social and economic
information on any of the 480 counties in the Foundation's eight-state
region.
The Regional Indicators website (www.indicators.nwaf.org)
is accessible worldwide and enables users to look up information such as
population characteristics, income and poverty statistics,
employment, housing, and family household information. In addition
to providing information for online review, the interactive
website allows users to print or download information as graphs, tables
or maps.
A cooperative project with the University of Idaho, the website was
conceived as a way to put community-level information from a variety of
federal and state agencies in one convenient location. "We've tried
to make it as simple as possible for people to find current and accurate
social and economic information about their community," stated Karl
Stauber, President/CEO of the Foundation. Future enhancements to
the website will provide detailed information in a wider range of topics
and will enable interactive mapping, and will explore other types of
geographic areas including Indian reservations and multi-county regions.
The Northwest Area Foundation is based in Saint Paul, Minnesota and
works to reduce poverty by cooperative assistance to communities
throughout its eight-state region of Iowa, Minnesota, North and South
Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Washington and Oregon. The Foundation does not
accept requests for grants, but works directly with communities on a
wide variety of strategic initiatives.

Children's Report Card
The Children’s Report Card was developed by Minnesota Planning to measure progress toward Minnesota’s goals for social and education services for children. The report card uses indicators to help the state and its counties assess their performance. It gives you the ability to conduct county-by-county analysis and map individual indicators.

Minnesota KIDS COUNT provides county-by-county assessment of the condition of Minnesota’s children. Minnesota KIDS COUNT releases periodic reports and an annual
data book to provide a statistical profile of Minnesota children and suggestions for action on their behalf.
